LeBron James finished eighth in fan voting among Western players. Additionally, he finished eighth among fellow players and ninth in the media voting.

James missed the first 14 games of the 2025-26 season with sciatica. He also saw his 1,297-game streak of scoring 10+ points end against the Toronto Raptors in December. The four-time champion is averaging 22.6 points, 5.9 rebounds and 6.9 assists per game.
He can still make the All-Star as a reserve, if selected by coaches. The last time he didn’t make the All-Star team was his rookie season in 2004. However, he didn’t play in the 2025 All-Star Game, despite being voted a starter, due to foot and ankle discomfort.
Representing the West are Luka Doncic (LA Lakers), Stephen Curry (Golden State Warriors), Nikola Jokic (Denver Nuggets), Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (OKC Thunder) and first-time starter Victor Wembanyama.
What’s next for LeBron James following the end to 21-year All-Star starter streak
LeBron James is widely expected to be named to the reserve by coaches on Sunday. His priority will shift to helping the Lakers finish the season strong and have a deep run in the postseason.

With retirement rumors in the air, the four-time champion said that he wasn’t thinking about that before the 2025-25 season started. Although he acknowledged that “the end is near,” he refused to specify when that might be.
He is in the final year of his Lakers contract and will become an unrestricted free agent next season, and there is speculation about his next move, whether he’ll retire, re-sign with the Lakers or even join another team, preferably his draft team, the Cleveland Cavaliers.
