Seasoned Australian batter Usman Khawaja announced his retirement from international cricket on Friday, January 2. The final Test of Ashes 2025-26, which gets underway at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) on Sunday, will be his farewell game for Australia. Incidentally, Khawaja kick-started his Test career in Sydney against England in January 2011.
The 39-year-old has featured in 87 Test matches so far and has scored 6,206 runs at an average of 43.39. The left-handed batter has notched up 16 hundreds and 28 half-centuries in his impressive career. However, he has struggled in the ongoing Ashes. In five innings, Khawaja has scored 153 runs at an average of 30.60, with just one half-century to his name.
