Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs seemed to be settling into his new reality behind bars as reports revealed he’s been given a job in the prison.
Diddy is now reportedly looking after laundry room at the Federal Correctional Institution in Fort Dix, New Jersey.
The 55-year-old rapper, once known for his lavish lifestyle and private jets, is expected to spend his days washing and drying clothes for other inmates.
Sources told TMZ the music mogul officially started his work assignment shortly after being transferred to the low-security facility earlier this week.
Diddy is serving a 50-month sentence after being convicted of transportation to engage in prostitution.
However, his attorneys pushed for the transfer from Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center, citing poor conditions and hoping the New Jersey prison’s rehabilitation programs would offer him some stability and family access.
During his trial, prosecutors claimed the rapper relied so heavily on personal assistants that he was unable to handle basic tasks himself, making his new prison role a stark contrast to his old life.
The rapper’s move came weeks after troubling reports from Brooklyn, where his longtime friend Charlucci Finney told the Daily Mail that Diddy once woke up with a knife to his throat.
Finney believed the attack was meant to frighten rather than harm him, describing it as “intimidation.”
The producer said he worried constantly about his friend’s safety, explaining that inmates often target those accused of sexual crimes.
“We’re not talking about a regular person,” he said. “We’re talking about Diddy.”
